Born in Basel in 1985, he started Theater Basel at 17, which led him to the Salzburg Festival in 2004. After his acting career, David-Jonas Frei embarked on a career as a director and producer. In 2017, he studied at the "Filmarche Berlin" film school. During this time, he made the short film 7 Liars (Deep Valley) 2019 and the TV show "Panoptikum".
