Become part of the ISFF Detmold 2026

General Entry Information

Deadline: 30th of April 2026

We accept:

Independent short films by professionals and upcoming filmmakers.

Submission can be of any genre: documentary, animation, art-house, children and teen, music videos and beyond.

We are also open to entries from related artistic fields, such as installations and performances for the festival venue.

Requirements:

  • Maximum runtime: 10 minutes
  • Completed entry form
  • English subtitles (also for films with English dialogues)
  • Two film stills (.jpeg)
  • A portrait of the director (.jpeg)
  • Film made/finished between 2021-2026
  • permission to stream your film in our online edition of the ISFF

Rules and Terms:

Your submission implies that you have the legal right to represent and submit the film for consideration, along with your acceptance of ISFF Detmold regulations.

To submit a film, you must have created the project yourself, own the rights or have permission from the owner of the content to submit the film.
Please note that since the ISFF Detmold is a hybrid event, we can only accept films for which you give   us the permission to stream them in our linear live stream during the festival. Your film can only be streamed online at the very same moment the film is presented in Detmold.

ISFF Detmold reserves the right to refuse acceptance of submissions deemed by the festival to be inappropriate and violating the Rules and Terms.
