Alessandro Capitani

Alessandro Capitani (Orbetello, 1980) is an Italian film and television director. He graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome in 2009. He worked as an assistant director for Daniele Luchetti (La Nostra Vita) and Carlo Mazzacurati (La Passione). In 2013, with his short film La legge di Jennifer, he won the Cinemaster at Universal Studios in Hollywood. In 2016, his short film Bellissima won the David di Donatello Award for Best Italian Short Film. In 2018, he made his feature film debut with In viaggio con Adele, written by Nicola Guaglianone and starring Sara Serraiocco, Alessandro Haber, and Isabella Ferrari. In 2021, he wrote and directed his second feature film, I nostri fantasmi, starring Michele Riondino, Hadas Yaron, Alessandro Haber, and Paolo Pierobon. Alongside his film career, he works as a television director on acclaimed TV programs such as I Dieci Comandamenti (Rai Tre) and Sette Storie (Rai Uno). He is currently directing the talk show In Mezz’ora (Rai Tre), hosted by Monica Maggioni.
