Lara Torp was born in Berlin in 1996. Starting as a child, she has been working as a speaker in radio plays as well as being part of the Young Journalists of the Berlinale. After graduating from high school, she travelled through South America and worked different theatre productions in Germany. In 2017, she began studying screenplay at the Film University Konrad Wolf, and has collaborated on several short films since. In 2019, her feature film screenplay "Nimm die Scherbe" (AT) was nominated for best screenplay at the Sehsüchte Festival.
