Egzona, Dave Lojek

Short Biography of Egzona Egzona was born in Munich in 1999. As an actress and filmmaker with Albanian roots she began her career with supporting roles in German TV productions such as ALMANIA and AKTENZEICHEN XY. She soon landed leading characters in feature films including MEZZANINE and MILA. With SPEAK, a movie about religious domestic abuse, Egzona made her debut as a producer, writer, and director, winning her first awards for the project. Egzona has worked extensively behind the camera on various projects. Her current endeavors include the YESTERDAY WAS A LONG TIME AGO and the eerie confrontation with a magic mirror KATOPTRIK. She also works as a assistant on commercial advertising sets. At the same time, she continues to appear in front of the camera as an actress. Most recently, Egzona was seen in the TV movie WATZMANN ERMITTELT – DIE TRÄNEN DER MADONNA, which aired on German television in January 2026. He belongs to the prolific and most often selected directors of the 21st century with over 2191 screenings of his distributions at international film festivals worldwide. Dave's favorite genres are comedy, parody, fantasy, romance, poetry, art, and experiment. Laureate Lojek also directs documentaries, dramas, portraits, sci-fi, and music videos. His works and distributions granered 260 awards. Master Lojek graduated with an MA in English / American and Cultural Studies from Humboldt-University in his hometown Berlin with excellent grades. In terms of content and style, Dave's poetic films encapsulate magic, love, death, friendship, loneliness, artists, oddities, escapism, mythology, and the everyday. Based on the Homo-Ludens-principle, visionary Lojek clearly focuses his often-cheerful work on the universal and timeless. He calls his motivation for filmmaking intrinsic. As independent producer, Dave created and distributed 185 movies in 26 cities in 12 European countries by 2026. Mr. Lojek hosts monthly open screenings in Germany’s oldest cinema Moviemento in Kreuzberg since 2007 and annual film workshops called KinoKabarets with his initiative KinoBerlino. Dave works as film distributor and president of a Film Association.
