Marien Ruenes Amarante

Marien is a Mexican animator and filmmaker focused on character-driven storytelling through 3D animation. She graduated with Honours from Vancouver Film School and also studied at Tec de Monterrey. Her work centers on hand-keyed character animation, with a strong emphasis on performance, emotion, and subtle human moments. She produced Lightscape, a short film that received an Honourable Mention at the United Kingdom Student Film Festival. Stop Watering Dead Plants is her directorial debut and continues her interest in exploring character, silence, and the emotional complexity of everyday experiences.
