Claudia Richarz

Claudia Richarz is an experimental and documentary filmmaker and a mother of two children. In 1979 she co-founded the "Frauenmedienladen bildwechsel", the self-managed cultural and media centre for women in Hamburg. In the late 1990s she realised, together with Carl-Ludwig Rettinger, the 10-part documentary series "Abnehmen in Essen" for WDR/arte and was awarded the Grimme Prize for it. Her cinema film "Vulva 3.0" (together with Ulrike Zimmermann) had its world premiere at the Berlinale in 2014. Her film "Helke Sander: Aufräumen" won the audience award at the International Women's Film Festival Dortmund+Cologne in 2023. She lives in Schleswig-Holstein.
