I have always been obsessed with stories and the different ways they could be told, even as a small child before I could read I would recite picture books back to my mum from memory, as I loved them so much. Growing up an only child who moved around a lot I spent hours glued to the tv screen watching everything from Teen Titans, Gravity Falls and Scooby doo, to Howl's Moving Castle, Fantastic Mr Fox and Treasure Planet, anything and everything I could get my hands on, as they were the friends that always stayed. Out of all the forms of storytelling animation drew me in the most due to the pure escapism and creative expression it allowed, no restrictions imposed by reality just pure imagination. I loved getting into the nitty gritty of the form during my time at Falmouth university, losing myself into the history and legacy of the format and hoping to one day find my place in it some way or another.
